Our engine warranty includes:

The car is inspected by TuningChip before any action is taken.

The engine warranty applies when the vehicle has an engine warranty as a new car warranty - not extended - provided that the criteria below are met.

Service must be carried out according to the service book by a brand workshop or a workshop designated by us within service intervals.

The engine oil must be changed at least every 1500 km and/or once a year.

Spark plug replacement max. 5,000 km on BMW/Mini 2.0T engines.

Swedish registered vehicle.

Not imported cars.

Maximum compensation per damage is a base amount.

Does not apply to known manufacturing defects.

Damage that is not approved in advance by Tuningchip AB will not be compensated for subsequently.
Exceptions for mechanical damage:

Normal wear and tear.

Theft.

Previously upgraded cars.

If other interventions are made to the engine, e.g. replacement of hardware.

Track driving or other driving that cannot be considered normal.

Does not apply to known manufacturing defects.

In case of any damage:
Before any action is taken on the car, contact TuningChip for support and inspection. TuningChip is not responsible for costs that are not approved by us. The deductible for each compensable damage is 2500:-.
* The engine warranty expires when the car changes ownership.
When you hand in your car for service at the brand workshop, it may happen - although it is very rare - that the car's software is updated. This means that the program is overwritten and lost. If this happens to you, we will ensure that you receive an updated program reinstalled free of charge as goodwill**. If you wish to restore the car's original software, we will also do this free of charge. A free update or restoration to original, then 1,990:-.
** Does not apply if the manufacturer makes updating difficult/impossible. Applies during the period covered by the engine warranty from the supplier. If your warranty has expired, you have the right to refuse an update if you service at a brand workshop, your engine will then be original again. Due to the "dieselgate" scandals, brand workshops are trying to avoid liability by installing new software even on older models. This update normally gives about 7-8% higher fuel consumption, lower engine power and worse throttle response - here you say no. We will also update your car in these cases but the cost is 1,990 SEK. We do not update Alfa Romeo's 2.9T, Audi R8 V10, Volvo 2.0 D3, D4, D5 and T8 free of charge, cost 2,990 SEK.
Five-time unlocked BMWs will incur a new unlocking cost of 50% of the cost. Fifth-generation BMW made by us after 1/1 2026, 2,990 SEK.
STT Emtec emission & engine technology laboratory has tested diesel boxes that showed a power increase of approximately 1/3 of the promised power increase, another disadvantage was exceeding the maximum exhaust gas temperature in the turbo and too high fuel pressure.
