Who are we?

Our journey began in 1995 when the first turbo cars started to appear on the market.
30 years later we are still here – with the same passion, but with more experience and with one goal - to give you as a customer a more fun car to drive. VAG - VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda - were the most popular with a 1.8 turbo engine that was really fun and curled the asphalt with our optimization.
The range of fun engines was meager, the toughest thing that was available at the time was BMW's 3.0L naturally aspirated engines without a turbo that didn't exactly make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, but despite that we made lots of naturally aspirated engines with a lot of driving pleasure.
In 1997, Ulf Hedén and I decided that we wanted to work with this full-time and started TuningChip in a room on Birkagatan in Stockholm.
At this time, there were not many people doing this, we were a small group of motor enthusiasts consisting of pioneers Jörgen Weise and Claus Aichberger at the forefront.
There were also not many applications developed to facilitate changes in the folders, the technology guru Axel Schroer who started EVC and developed WinOLS contributed lots of innovative tools such as importing DAMOS files and is also used by car manufacturers.

Today our focus is on passenger cars, hybrid cars and boat engines.
Over the years, many cars have rolled by, but also trucks, which are a chapter in themselves. We had big plans to revolutionize the heavy side, whereupon we began by documenting careful tests before and after optimization with an Econen data logger that recorded the driver's behavior and the vehicle's consumption, average speed, braking, etc. We documented more than 100 tested trucks, after which we were able to show actual results with fuel savings of 5% for line trucks and up to 17% for light and heavy trucks that were driven in city traffic with many start/stops. Some of the companies we helped to save fuel were Swebus, Lips, Sita, Ragnsells, Nils Hansson, Färdig Betong, Cija Tank and Destroyer.

Motorsport has always been an important part of our everyday lives for 50 years, we have competed at the elite level in karting, rallying, drag racing and racing and also have many competition teams as our customers. In this way, we constantly stay up to date where we can test and refine details that we also use on our regular customer cars.
